About the Artist
Meet The Artist
Hello! My name is Jessica Klob (pronounced club). I am a young self-taught artist and crafter from Pennsylvania, USA. I love to create art, make and design things, and work with my hands.
I have enjoyed drawing and doing fiber crafts from a young age, and in my teen years my interest in painting increased.
I am a traditional artist, preferring to work with physical materials/mediums rather than digital. I consider myself to be somewhere in the intermediate stage of my art journey. My favorite style is realism.
If you were to ask me who my favorite artist is, I would definitely say by far and above that my favorite artist ever is God. He is the original Artist, from whom all of us lesser artists do well to learn from. His works are the most breathtaking, awe-inspiring, beautiful works of art you can ever hope to see. The vast expanses of space, filled with galaxies and nebulae; the sky, with its ever-changing display and smooth gradients of color; the ocean with its deep blue waters and majestic waves; snow-clad mountains; winding rivers; lush green hills; sunlight filtering down through a forest canopy; violets; goldfinches; the iridescent gleam of a beetle’s wing cover. Nature is the largest source of inspiration for me as an artist, and living in a semi-rural neighborhood in farm country, I am blessed to have beautiful sights outside the windows and plenty in the area.
I also enjoy fiber crafts a lot, and I always have more than one project in progress. I first learned a little fiber crafts when I was pretty young, and when I was about 8 years old, my grandmother taught me some basics of knitting. Throughout my life I have learned some knitting, crocheting, sewing, and weaving. I love working with fiber (and it’s also great for keeping my hands busy). There are so many things you can make!
In the future, I plan to write and illustrate children’s books, as well as produce plenty of paintings. I have all sorts of ideas that I want to bring to life someday.
One artistic pursuit that I want to learn is the art of illumination, creating beautifully decorated manuscripts by hand.
Art is difficult, but it is a wonderful profession. With patience, diligence, and plenty of God’s grace, I’ll get there. (And to aspiring artists: you can, too!)
God be wi’ ye!

About 3:17 Arts
I first decided I wanted to have my own micro-business when I was around 12-13 years old, if my memory serves. In my teen years I made various plans for my business, and really started to work on it when I was 16-17. I purchased my website hosting on my 19th birthday. More work and learning followed, until I was able to officially launch 3:17 Arts in November of 2023.
Before officially launching 3:17 Arts, I sold a total of 20 dishcloths to a few ladies from my church over several years, along with making numerous dishcloths for gifts and home. I also sold a couple of custom cards, and in the summer of 2023 completed a two-piece pet portrait commission—my first one.
The name of my business, 3:17 Arts, is based off of the Bible verse Colossians 3:17: “And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” (ESV)
My business motto is:
Humility
As a state of heart
Integrity
In all behavior
Excellence
In everything
May my work and how I do it be pleasing to the Lord.
Thanks for taking the time to read about my journey!
